Music Concert Tickets App UX/UI Product Design
Overview
"Spotted" Is an app that will assist you in searching, scheduling, purchasing, and attending all your favorite shows by your preferred artists, with minimum effort and maximum experience.
Role:
Lead UX/UI Designer
Timeframe:
4 Weeks
Platform:
Android
The Challenge
Many music enthusiasts and fans eager to attend live performances often struggle with scattered information across various websites and social media platforms. There lacks a single unified platform that consolidates all relevant details, leading to disorganization and fragmented information.
The Solution
An application that centralizes all aspects related to music: artists, bands, festivals, featuring detailed performance schedules for artists and festivals. Users have the option to follow artists (for updates on performances, merchandise, etc.), as well as the convenience of purchasing tickets directly within the app, avoiding external links.
The Research
Step 1:
We checked existing solutions by signing up for all concert apps and ticket platforms available. We found several problems and missing features.
Pain Points:
-
Many apps offer personalization but often perform poorly.
-
Ticket apps often redirect users to unreliable external platforms.
-
Apps often lack social features for coordinating show attendance.
-
Artists lack mobile platforms for event creation and management.
-
In most apps, you must sell your own concert ticket if you can't attend.
Competitors:
Step 2:
We conducted a survey with over 100 participants from around the world, including both fans and artists. Our survey focused on music/concert apps, ticketing platforms, and events across all available platforms.
Survey Results:
-
77.6% stay updated on new shows/concerts via social media platforms.
-
67.2% trust a website that directs them to another site for purchase, depending on the link.
-
55.6% sell tickets to their shows/events via ticketing platforms.
-
49.3% usually get tickets from ticketing platforms for events.

Design System
Once our skeleton was ready, we moved on to the main course: the design system. Here, we carefully selected our entire graphic language, including the logo, typography, and color palette, to enhance the user experience.
Logo:
The logo is a combination of typography and an icon. The name of the application, "Spotted," features an "O" with an icon inside, symbolizing two things: a soundwave and two connected people. The reason for this combination is to enhance the app's purpose, which is live music and connections.
Color Palette:
The main choice of colors for the application combines interpretations of a few elements: nightlife (since most concerts are in the evening/night time), spotlights (representing stage lights), and the love for music.
